This year, for Red Nose Day, MyGo did its part for raising money for those in need. With the goal of raising at least £100; MyGo held a daylong event for staff members and customers alike to take part in.
All members of staff came in dressed in a red item of clothing. Customers were also invited to dress in red to gain a free ticket to the charity raffle, where local businesses had sponsored prizes including free meals out for two, half an hour in a VR (Virtual Reality) room and money vouchers. Additional raffle tickets were available for staff and customers to purchase for 50p.
MyGo also hosted a variety of games and activities for the customers to take part in throughout the day including ‘Pin the Nose on the Staff’, ‘Dingbats’, ‘Team Tower Building’, ‘Sweets & Chocolate Quiz', ‘Speed Typing Competition’ and ‘How Many Sweets in the Jar’. Each activity was only 20p to take part in, rewarding participants with additional raffle tickets!
Guitar tutor and MyGo customer James Webber-Salmon also offered £1 guitar lessons and busked in centre to help raise money.
Some of the single mum’s currently doing a Hair & Beauty traineeship organised by MyGo also offered to do £1 mini-makeovers and face painting on the day. Something that MyGo host Adam jumped at the chance to take part in.
Towards the end of the day, the raffle winners were announced in the front of the centre, with the gifts and prizes handed out to the lucky individuals who won. It was then that MyGo also announced that together with the help of the customers and staff they had raised £193 over the course of a single day, with all proceeds going to the Comic Relief charity fund.
